Insurance, billing, and
what to expect.

We believe you should know what you’re paying before you pay it. Here’s how billing works at this clinic — and what to ask when you call.

Do you accept insurance?
We accept many insurance plans for medical dermatology visits. Coverage varies by plan, service type, and whether the visit is considered medically necessary. Call us at (541) 200–2777 with your insurance card in hand and we can help confirm your coverage before you schedule.
Which services are typically covered?
Medical dermatology services — such as evaluation of skin conditions, biopsies, and medically indicated treatments — are generally billed to insurance as medically necessary care. Cosmetic dermatology, CoolSculpting, and some wellness services are typically elective and not covered by insurance. Hormone therapy and women’s health visits may be covered depending on your plan and the clinical context. We will always tell you before a service whether it is being billed to insurance or is self-pay.
What about cosmetic and elective services?
Cosmetic dermatology, CoolSculpting, certain cosmetic procedures, and some wellness services are elective and not covered by insurance. We accept all major credit and debit cards for self-pay services. Some patients are able to use HSA or FSA funds for qualifying services — ask and we can provide an itemized receipt for your records.
How does billing for teledermatology work?
Teledermatology visits are billed the same way as in-person visits for the same service. Many insurance plans cover telehealth dermatology — coverage has expanded significantly in recent years. We will verify your coverage before your telehealth visit and let you know your estimated out-of-pocket costs.
Will I know my costs before my appointment?
Yes. We make every effort to provide cost estimates before services are rendered. For insurance-covered services, we will verify your benefits and provide an estimate of your expected copay or deductible responsibility. For self-pay services, we will tell you the cost upfront. You will never be surprised by a bill you didn’t know was coming.
Do you offer payment plans?
For larger elective service costs, ask about payment plan options when you call. We want care to be accessible, and we will work with you where we can.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Many medical dermatology services and some wellness services qualify for HSA and FSA payment. Cosmetic-only services typically do not. If you’d like to use your HSA or FSA card, bring it with you — and we can provide an itemized receipt for your records if needed.
